As we move into the final stretch of the year, I’m excited to share some great news and important updates from your Business Brokers of Florida (BBF).

Chair’s Letter
First, I’m proud to announce that the BBF awarded five scholarships this year to the children and grandchildren of our members who are heading off to college. These young men and women represent the next generation of leaders, and it’s an honor to support their education. Congratulations to each recipient, and thank you to all our members whose participation and dues help make this kind of initiative possible. It’s a wonderful reminder that our association is not just about business, it’s also about community and giving back.
Next, please save the date for our 2026 BBF Conference, which will be held August 26–29 at the beautiful Hilton West Palm Beach. This conference happens every other year and is one of the most valuable opportunities we have for education, networking, and sharing best practices. We’re working on lining up an incredible slate of speakers, breakout sessions, and social events to make it both productive and fun. You’ll want to mark your calendar early, this is a can’t-miss event!
On the advocacy front, I want to update you on our SBA initiative. The BBF, working together with other state organizations and the IBBA, has been in active discussions with several U.S. senators regarding the SBA rule changes that went into effect on June 1. These include issues such as the full standby requirements on seller debt, personal guarantees by sellers, restrictions on post-sale involvement, and loan cap limitations. We’re pushing hard to have these rules revisited, as they significantly impact both buyers and sellers, and ultimately, the small business economy. Your association is doing its part to make sure the broker’s voice is heard in Washington.
Finally, stay tuned for exciting BLS system upgrades coming soon! We’ll be announcing details shortly, so please watch your inbox for updates on the new features and improvements that will make our system even more efficient and user-friendly.
As always, thank you for your continued support and professionalism. Together, we’re making a real difference for our industry and our members across Florida.
Warm regards,

Paul McNally
